SONOS Chamber Orchestra presents:
Music for String Quartet and Shakuhachi, “more or less…”
Principal string players join Shakuhachi master James Nyoraku Schlefer in a concert at the Tenri Cultural Institute. Composers featured: Carl Nielsen (Denmark), Akira Nishimura (Japan), Isang Yun (Korea), Marty Regan (Texas), and Charles Porter (New York). Musicians will perform two quintets for shakuhachi and string quartet, a solo piece for cello, a solo piece for viola, a duet for 2 violins and one string quartet! These extraordinary players will show their virtuosic skills in not-often heard repertoire ranging from Denmark to Japan, from China to Texas!
